Fontashia is an enthusiastic lifelong learner, mother of four handsome young kings, passionate about education, loves to travel, and cooks with love.  Fontashia brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to various coaching methods.  She has a keen sense of the mindset needed to introduce and nurture something as big as community-wide initiatives. 

 

BIO

Fontashia is the owner and coach at FACTS Wellness and Retreat Center in Fayetteville, NC. She is passionate about whole-body wellness and the transformative power of retreating.  She considers herself a lifelong learner and always finds ways to build and grow.  She is also the Founder of FACTS:  Financial Awareness, Counseling & Teaching Services, a North Carolina nonprofit organization that is committed to serving underserved communities by offering financial literacy and mindfulness programs, meeting individuals where they are in their financial and mental fitness journey. She is a graduate of the Mindful Schools Teacher Certification Program, MBSR certified, a Somatic Practitioner, a Financial Literacy Coach, a Business Educator, and above all a woman of Faith.  Fontashia enjoys sharing her experiences, while empowering others in the present moment.  


She earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Regent University and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Norfolk State University. Additionally, she is a licensed teacher in North Carolina. Transitioning from a decade-long career in banking and management, Fontashia pursued her calling, amassing over a decade of experience in K-12 education, Title 1 public schools, and alternative education settings. She spearheaded mindfulness and financial literacy initiatives for both students and parents, while also providing professional development services for a diverse array of organizations, including schools, nonprofits, and community partners.


​Fontashia has served in various roles as an educator to include–Business Education Teacher, Career Development Coordinator, Parent Facilitator, and Restorative Justice Teacher.  She is also a Co-Creator for a BIPOC mindfulness community group, “Mindfulness with People of Color" and a Creator in a group of mindfulness practitioners and facilitators called “Collectively Mindful”.  This group was created after the closure of Mindful Schools, an international mindfulness organization supporting in integrating mindfulness into school communities, where she served as a program facilitator and diversity, equity and inclusion lead. 

Fontashia has been practicing mindfulness for many years and believes that it has changed her perspective on life--not only does it allow her to be fully present for her four boys (and yorkie), it has also transformed her mindset to welcome abundance, practice self-love, and be grateful for all that life has to offer.  She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, listening to music, and dancing.
